Tropico is a construction and city building game series where the player assumes the role of the leader of a tropical banana republic. Tropico 1 (2001), Tropico 3 (2009), Tropico 4 (2011), and Tropico 5 (due 2014) have a modern setting which gives the player the control of small Caribbean islands during the Cold War and beyond.
